Colorful Wedding Dresses

As the poll has proven not many people will go for colored dresses. However for a couple of years now designers have been sending some color down the runway

and I have to say I find myself liking them more and more.

Poll Results: Summer Nights

About 80% of you guys would rather get married during summer time and it's easy to believe since we all know that the height of wedding season is during summer.

So to make my readers happy, I figured I will showcase outdoor ceremony and reception.

If you decide to go with a summer night wedding the venue is a no brainer, choose a garden, a park, even a bakyard, somewhere that has an open space.

If you decide to have a tent, pick one that will still give an open air feel to the event.

Have lots of lights. Lanterns, christmas lights anything that will brighten up the place.

If the wedding is by a pool put some floating lights in the water and candles around it.

Do not forget to vote for our new poll, would you go for a colored wedding dress? or you would stick to a more traditional white or cream dress?

On a side note, doesn't summer nights make you think of the movie grease

First Look

72% of you would rather see your better half at the ceremony. Though I agree with the majority, I can see how sweet it would be to have a private moment prior to going public.

Sharing a moment before the craziness of the day begins.

Please take a moment to cast your vote for the new poll. The question is: "Which season is your favorite for a wedding?"

Groom Style

Am happy to report that 100% of voters believe that their future husbands have impeccable style, thus they can be trusted with their wedding attires. Since grooms are not built the same, here is some advice for the men in your lives.

Single Breasted---A jacket that meets in the middle with one row of buttons, and no overlap.

If you are short and husky built, choose 1 button tuxedo it will help lengthen your torso.

If you are taller (but under 5'8") and trimmer go for a 2 button with a narrow cut.

Choose a 3 button if your body type is athletic

For the tall groom (6' and above), a 5 button tuxedo will flatter your physique.

Double Breasted---Overlapping so as to provide a double thickness of material across the chest, and having a double row of buttons

If you are thin and tall choose a double breasted style for your tuxedo to define your shoulder, this style can also be chosen for the tall and heavier build groom; its the perfect fit to camouflage your midsection.

Cutaway---short in the front, long in the back, and tapering from the front waist button to a wide back tail.

This style will look good on any frame, especially on shorter guys because it gives the illusion of heights.

Tails---Cropped in front, with two tails in the back and a two- to six-button front.

Rounder and shorter men beware, this style can be unflattering for your body type.

So there you have it; add a little bit of confidence and the groom should look almost as good as the bride.

Please take some time to answer the next poll: When would you like to see your bride/groom for the first time?

Poll Results: Elegant & Classic

The results are in and you guys wedding style is elegant and classic but at the same time fun. So here are a few ideas on how to pull it off.
First of all classic doesn't mean boring and elegant doesn't necessarily mean expensive.
As a rule of thumb I would suggest keeping things simple, spacey and clean, in other words don't over do it.

The ceremony:

The reception

I absolutely love this chair, I think it's simple, elegant and classic, exactly what this post is about. Also remember when I was talking about using African fabrics for the sashes at the back of your chairs? Well here you can substitute the fabric at the top with some African cloth (or Asian, South American, whatever you want). If you are good with needles (or know someone who is) you can do it yourself, it would save you the money for the chair covers.

The next poll is about the groom, so am curious ladies will you let your groom choose his own attire or will you dictate what he should wear? Please take some time to answer that question.
